While my posts have been few and far between I have been busy this summer, knitting and otherwise. On the knitting front, a new design for Interweave Knits Fall is now available. I know, I know, it's still August and at least here in the northeast the forecast is for mid to high 90's . But, we all know falling leaves and cooler temperatures will soon be upon us. I try to design with American based yarns whenever possible, and this one is Tracie Too from Imperial Stock Ranch. The same folks who provided the yarn for the US Olympic Team's 2014 Opening Ceremony Sweaters. If this yarn is good enough for Ralph Lauren, it's good enough for me. The design is a nod to traditional gansey styling, while giving the illusion of a layered piece with the addition of a "shirttail." The traditional eyelet motif in the yolk is mirrored in the shirttail. I like to envision this dressed up a bit with leggings and boots, or a long woolly skirt. It is also easily dressed down with jeans or corduroys.
